It’s All In Your Attitude

by Elly Hurley on 12 April, 2012

Day 12: I haven’t had the best day today, if I had to choose one word to describe it I’d say ‘frustrating’. It’s just been one of those days, I could name and blame a tonne of things but I’m not going to. There is no point. Let me explain why. If I rehash everything that’s not gone according to plan today I’d be focusing on the wrong things, and I’d rather focus on what I need to do now and tomorrow to change the momentum.

By acknowledging that things haven’t gone well (rather than just burying my head like an ostrich and pretending everything is fine) means I can learn from my misfortunes today and be better tomorrow.

This reminds me of something I saw some time ago, which I’d love to share with you. As you all know the English alphabet has 26 letters A to Z, and if we apply a number to each letter (for example A = 1, B = 2….Z = 26) then the following is conceivable.

Knowledge = K+N+O+W+L+E+D+G+E = 11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%
Hardwork = H+A+R+D+W+O+R+K = 8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%

BUT Attitude = A+T+T+I+T+U+D+E = 1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%

To do anything in life we need some knowledge, the ability to endure hardwork but without the right attitude you won’t be 100% successful – after all it’s in the numbers!

With the right attitude anything is possible, and everything is achievable, and that’s why I’m looking forward to tomorrow. I needed today to happen to make tomorrow the day it’s going to be…..night all xx

  • Hi Elly, I had a day like this yesterday and then this morning, I went for a long bike ride and decided that it is only my attitude to a situation that affects me, so that has to change towards a few things. Here goes.
